The Swedish Film Institute and EFP (European Film Promotion) have chosen David Herdies to represent Sweden in this year's Producers on the Move. Held at the Cannes Film Festival for the 19th consecutive year, Producers on the Move is a project where 20 of Europe’s most interesting and talked-about producers are invited to participate in a range of workshops and seminars to network and exchange ideas.

David Herdies is the managing director at Momento Film, an independent platform for new talent he founded in 2011. He is the producer behind a number of acclaimed shorts and documentaries such as Fragility (2016) by Ahang Bashi which was nominated for the Swedish Guldbagge award, and Madre by Simón Mesa Soto which premiered in the official short film competition in Cannes 2016 and picked up awards for best short film at the Chicago Film Festival and the Colombian Film Festival in New York. David Herdies' most recent film was the feature documentary Ouaga Girls (2017) directed by Theresa Traoré Dahlberg. He is currently working on a number of projects, including Soto's feature debut Amparo. David Herdies was also the co-producer of Tinatin Kajrishvili's Horizon which was shown at the 2018 Berlinale Panorama.

- We have some really amazing feature films in the works right now with great international potential, so getting the honour to be chosen as Sweden's Producer on the Move couldn't  be more timely! I have a lot of experience producing documentaries but I'm quite new to the world of feature films, so this is a perfect opportunity to step out into the international arena and meet like-minded producers who are also passionate about filmmaking, says David Herdies.
